Dressler Parsons is a contemporary folk singer-songwriter. Her debut album, “We Could Have Been Wives,” was released via Morbid Instinct in January 2023.
“We Could Have Been Wives” is a collection of heartbreak songs. I’ve always been interested in the nuance of in-between feelings, of almost-relationships, of connections that never fully blossom but still leave you grieving. Roughly half of the album was written sometime between Winter 2021 and Summer 2022, but the other half dates back much further—songs born in different life stages that have followed me through the years. Making this record felt like an exhale, and I hope these songs help you put words to your own strangely elusive heartache.
