Code Blue was a two-day event in which I invited strangers to my dorm room and dyed streaks of their hair blue. My hair had been streaked blue for a couple years; most people knew me as "the girl with blue hair." By dyeing the hair of over 30 other people in my small on-campus community, "the girl with blue hair" became a useless identifier; dissolving part of an individual identity and creating a new, collective one.
